Be here now.

For about a month now, I have been in what I call “floater” mode. It has been a much needed break after an insanely exhausting and busy semester, where I’ve just lived out of my car and suitcase it feels like, going on adventures and visiting friends near and far. The clock is ticking, the world is spinning and I leave for Morocco in three days. Crazy! I just returned from my final visit to the lovely home of our sweet Carolina blue. I feel like I went through Chapel Hill like a whirlwind visiting friends, running errands and just soaking in all I could before I journey across the ocean!

(With my housemates at my farewell party!)

I’ve loved hearing from my senior Young Life friends about college acceptance letters, so congrats to all you newly admitted students! This is a super fun time, senior year, so make the most of it and finish strong! One of my favorite parts of my senior year was taking the day to visit Carolina with one of my teachers, who is also a Tar Heel. Later in the spring, I went with my dad and sister to Explore Carolina and it was awesome. I met up with my future roommate on Franklin Street for Pepper’s pizza. After living together for two years in Avery (LOVE!) and apart for this past semester, she’s still one of my best friends.

(Roommates for a bit, friends forever.)

In other news, the opportunity to study abroad was a huge factor in my college decision, and UNC seemed to have it all. My dream day is dawning fast, and I encourage to check out our study abroad website (www.studyabroad.unc.edu) and just check out the plethora of options you have if going abroad is on your radar at all. It’s a great selling point. The process has been incredibly smooth, the advisors have been wonderful and the scholarships are wide open—I can’t wait to tell you what it’s like on the other side! Until then, cheers future Tar Heels!

(The J-School, the hub of my learning.)

(So long, Sweet Caroline.)
